TENNESSEE TORNADOES 2020

UPDATED FRIDAY, MAY 29, 2020 2:10 PM EST

In partnership with Procter and Gamble, Matthew 25: Ministries responded to devastating tornadoes that tore through Nashville and the surrounding region late Monday evening and early Tuesday morning. Tornadoes were reported along a 145-mile stretch, leaving behind severe damage to homes and other buildings across several counties. As many as 50,000 people were without power as a result of the storms. The Cookeville area in Putnam County was especially hard hit, suffering a majority of the fatalities.

Matthew 25: Ministries’ Disaster Response Team deployed to impacted areas to provide relief services and distribute supplies throughout the affected areas. The team distributed approximately 500 personal care kits, 4,700 rolls of paper products, 600 first aid and safety kits, 100 tarps, and many other much-needed supplies. Additionally, the team provided laundry services to those impacted, completing more than 200 loads of laundry. The devastation is extensive, and we will continue working with partners to meet the ongoing needs of these communities.
